Welcome to our newly constructed lake house named "Magnolia Manor," with a hint and a taste of Old Southern Charm. We named it this because the area has abundant "cowcumber" magnolias growing everywhere. NEW HOUSE, "Brand New" and NEW FURNISHINGS inside and out! Construction completed in 2008 but never lived in. The Top Rated and best Marina on Smith Lake is just across the water from Magnolia Manor in your boat or just 2-4 minutes away by road. We are 8/10 of one mile from the Bridge (called “Big Bridge” or “Phillips Bridge” and the Marina. Whether you choose to stay in Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall, you will feel at home while only an hour away from Birmingham and Huntsville. Perfect for family, family reunions, scrap booking, conferences, corporate meetings, church and/or company retreats. To find us on Google Maps, just find Ryan's Creek Marina on County Road 222. Magnolia Manor is 2/10 of one mile West of the Marina by land or by boat, just across the lake next to the peninsula that juts out on the map. Coming from I-65, we are 7.1 miles West of Interstate 65 down State Highway 69.
Magnolia Manor is a hide-away overlooking Smith Lake placed upon a rolling hillside about 270 feet from waters edge where we have 140 feet of water frontage. The upper deck is perfect for sunbathing, just hanging out, BBQ's, cooking relaxing, boating, fishing or skiing. Put in your boat just across the way at Ryan's Creek Marina, Tie down your motor boat or pontoon after a day of swimming, water-skiing or fishing for large mouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, bream, and crappie, and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the lake.

Recommended by others.......
“We visited Magnolia Manor in June and had a wonderful time. I have four kids and 7 grandchildren. The house is wonderful for a big family. Everyone had their own rooms and the kids loved the bunks. The kitchen is adequately furnished for cooking large meals. We loved the outside decks. There is lots of parking for several vehicles. We enjoyed our time at Magnolia Manor and would recommend it for a family vacation”.......Dianne Holloman, Quitman, MS

Ave Maria Grotto

Ave Maria Grotto, known throughout the world as "Jerusalem in Miniature," is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park designed to provide a natural setting for the 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous historic buildings and shrines of the world. The masterpieces of stone and concrete are the lifetime work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey. Begun as a hobby, with various materials he could find, and infinite patience and a remarkable sense of symmetry and proportion, Brother Joseph re-created some of the greatest edifices of all time.

Shrine of the Most Belssed Sacrament

When pilgrims visit the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, many ask: "How did it all begin?" The answer to this question comes as a surprise to many ... the Lord used a business trip to bring about this marvel of His Divine Providence.

Mother Angelica stood praying at the side of the statue when suddenly the miraculous image came alive and turned towards her. Then the Child Jesus spoke with the voice of a young boy: "Build Me a Temple and I will help those who help you." Thus began a great adventure that would eventually result in the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, a Temple dedicated to the Divine Child Jesus, a place of refuge for all.

After coming home from the trip, Mother Angelica shared this story with the nuns. At once, they began to look for land. After several months of searching, they came to Hanceville, Alabama. The property is an isolated piece of farmland almost completely surrounded by a river. It had previously been used to farm soybeans. From the very first moment that she set foot on the land, Mother Angelica says that she "felt the Presence of God very strongly."
