Create you own week long mountain vacation with this centrally located "port". Asheville, including the Biltmore Estate and Winery is less than an hour drive. Three golf courses are within a ten minute drive, as is Lake Lure for water activities including boat and paddleboat rentals, swimming, small water park, or a variety of local cruises. The Riverbend community provides two private lakes, waterfalls, and riverside picnicking. Plan to spend at least a few hours at Chimney Rock Park located less than ten miles away for an exhilarating view, and rock climbing or trail adventures. Quaint shops and wonderful dining await your leisurely afternoons in nearby Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Hendersonville and Black Mountain. The Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway are close enough to pack a lunch and spend the day exploring. Furniture shopping in Hickory is only 90 minutes away. |
